  1. Locate the power toggle on the far left of the display and flip it up to on.
  2. Set speed by turning the SPEED dial to desired setting (x 1000).
  3. Set time by turning TIME dial. To ensure proper setting go past the desired time and come back to it.
  4. Set the deceleration by turning the BRAKE dial to the desired setting. For most uses the brake should be set at MAX.
  5. Set temperature by turning TEMP SET dial to the desired setting. The J-6 does not have an overtemp setting. If temperature is critical to your spin you must turn the centrifuge on approximately fifteen minutes prior to your spin to allow the unit to cool.
  6. The J-6 has one rotor with four different buckets for the various centrifuge tubes available. Place samples in the correct bucket for the tubes you have - they should fit snuggly. The samples need to be reasonably balances. Place the wind shield on the rotor and close the door.
  7. Start the run by pushing the START button. The green light will come on if the rotor starts spinning. When the time has expired the START light will go out and the STOP light will come on, indicating the rotor is decelarating. To stop the rotor prior to this either press the STOP button or turn the TIME dial to "0".
  8. When finished turn the centrifuge off and leave the door open. The rotor stays in the centrifuge.
